ABOVE: LINK TO RED ANDERSON'S MEMOIRS
Red Anderson wrote a memoir of his war time experiences, which were dangerous, grueling and incredibly dramatic. According to this memoir, he only 'broke down' once. He was at Dieppe, and earned a "Mention in Dispatch" for his actions there. But, since he limits his description of that battle to only half a page (see page 19 in the attached pdf), I have added an article, "A Bloody Miracle," written by Eswyn Lyster, published by the "Canadian Legion Magazine". My apologies as to the terrible photo reproductions: I wanted to save as many kilobytes as possible for this site! Some of the photos are in the above slideshow. And a hard copy of the memoir is in the archives of the Calgary Highlanders. The photos themselves are the property of Red Anderson's wife, Joan Anderson, of Medicine Hat, Alberta.
